Default Problems with Tarantulas

I had a customer come into the shop today saying that there is a big problem with Ts at the moment. He had a few just keel over and he said that its where people are messing with their breeding. He was getting rid of all of his and adviced me not to order any for customers for a while.

Is there any truth to this and if so how bad as this may effect bugfest

To be honest, I'd be inclined to say that what your customer is saying is, for the most part, total rubbish.

Whilst it is true that a number of genera/species have suffered as a result of hybridisation (some intentional, most not), it is not exactly what I would define as a wide-spread problem. And whilst it is perfectly possible for a 'weak batch' of spiderlings to be produced by a female, these specimens generally do not live past a month or so of age.

The pleasure was all mine!

If you like, I could write you a small 'report' detailing the species/genera most affected by hybridisation?
