Well its almost finished..... I have insulated and the vivs are in already... I still need to plaster the walls and paint them, but that can wait a little while as we are busy building in the new house we bought... anyways, here is what i have so far...

Then just after the first corner of concrete.














I am going to be putting up another shed on the right of this one, so i can convert it into 6 walk in vivs for my big Snakes.... And then another one in front of that one as a hospital and quarintine room....

Thanks peeps... Im trying to provide the best i can for my Reps. And also intend on trying to help others out with rehoming and Reptile Holiday accomodation etc. Hence the new rooms comming soon.

I looked at using the normal roof insulation from Wicks, but it didnt work for me, so i used Bubble wrap. Its cheap and keeps the humidity in. I also added Vents for air flow... But the temps stay nice and warm in there with the door closed. Average room temperature in there is 23 celcius, and thats going in at night. In the day it gets to about 28 celcius. So heating is minimum and helps with electric bills. I have a sensor put in the room that alarms in the house if the temp goes higher than 30 celcius. or below 15 celcius. Its somthin my uncle rigged up through his alarm company.

not quite sure your temps will be high enough in the middle of winter and low enough
if we ever get a summer,spending a small amont of money on insulation may come
back to haunt you i hope i'm wrong though.

As long as the room temp doesnt drop loads, it shouldnt affect the snakes at all. The room isnt heated yet, i have a external electric heater for winter. but each viv is heated seperately with its own stat, basking light and heat cable. So i dont think there will be any probs. Another person i know used the same insulation and has had no probs for the last 2 years. So fingers crossed.
