Does anyone know whether running a 100W spotlight on a dimmer stat in a warm room in summer, which means that the bulb dims, actually shortens the working life of the bulb?
I could do to pick up some 60W bulbs really I know (I usually do use 60's in summer and 100's at other times) but, they should last more than a couple of weeks! The same bulbs in vivs requiring higher temps last a lot longer, hence my wondering that running them at lower voltage causes them to wear out quicker.
Is this the case, or just a coincidence? A trip down to B&Q for some "summer" bulbs this weekend I reckon!
