It is mate, had a bash at it before. Where'd you get the poly from? I got mine from Wickes (http://www.wickes.co.uk/Construction...at/cipolyinsul)

Last edited by ViRMiN; 07-12-08 at 03:14 PM. Reason: Added link to poly on Wickes' site

i got most of it from wickes

£3.99 for 25mm thick polystyrene
£6.99 for 50mm thick polystyrene
£9.99 PVA glue 5 litres
£6.99 grout
£4 expanding foam

£8.19 sand 4.5kg bag from pet shop

total £40.15

considering i used all this for a 4x2x2 vivarium back, sides, floor, i did quite well, plus i have easily half this stuff left over so i could easily do another one, and it wouldn't cost me a penny,

you got me thinking now about making another one for my other beardie

Pretty good considering pre-fab backgrounds would probably have cost you that, and only been walls and not be a full environment as what you've done!

4x2x2 mate, once i had finished the background i had to get the misses to carry it up the stairs with me, not heavy but awkward, the grout did make it solid ha ha

I was thinking of using ply to box the floor and walls seeing as when I used the thinner poly for one of my walls it was a bit flimsy - probably didn't help that I melted some to create a similar effect as you did. I didn't use heat but white spirit and brushed it on and then push the poly in.
