With a bit of searching you can generally find the applicable information on the website of your local authority, and if you can't find anything relating to DWA Licences on the website, a quick phone call to the Environmental Health department will generally resolve that issue

And the DWA License fee for London Borough of Bexley is £539 for a new application and £311 per annum for a renewal.

Legally, local authorities are free to charge as much as they want. Although personally I believe there should be a standardised charge for all local authorities. Local authorities who charge extortionate prices are, in my opinion, simply "encouraging" the illegal ownership of DWA-listed species.

yes could not agree more. as you say it should be a set fee. Even if the price was high but it woudl be fair coz them every one would pay the same. Plus what happens if say you move from Sandwell to say Bexley and you already have a licence??

I have no intentions of getting one unless i get a bigger home where i can have Camen ( sorry not sure of spelling) as i would imagine they are on the list. But then again i have no idea of which herps are on the list that are actually legal in this country.

I would assume that the licence would no longer be valid as it has not been issued by the local authority that you would be moving to.

And you can find a copy of the current DWA species listing by clicking HERE
