Not going to sell this time as we have many other things on the go right now, and our leo plans are 2 & 3 year projects now.

May go just to have a gander and meet up with a few peeps, depends on the work load I guess.

what sort of state is this show? are the snakes actually held humanely?
one reason i refuse to go to shows (or did do) is because the way they are displayed/kept.
heard good things about his one though..

as its only the 2nd show its hard to really say how different to the others it is. But all snakes and other animal are on tables in plastic boxes with heat sources. All looked in good health from what i could see but then i didnt go around checking the displays. Peeps were buying so they must have been happy. Its a show for a few hours so not much you can do other that RUB's etc to display them in

was a bit small but i thought it was good, was nice to be able to actually move round a show lol and most peep kept the animals in either flip tubs or rubs, so was impressed, i didnt see a single crix tub lol mind you i didnt get to look round much so there might have been the odd one, but for the most, the animals tubs are a fast improvment. i gives it a thumbs up

it gets me though when they are in tubs and no hide people looking at them and whatever... it goes against every rule in reptile keeping in my opinion anyway.
it maybe for only a few hours at this show but others are longer and you wouldnt allow your snakes to be put under spot light with that amount of traffic and people looking at them at home so hence i wouldnt buy fom a show.

i think its only a matte of time before they are stopped anyway along wityh other sort of animal shows...not just reptiles.

problem is if peeps put hides in the reps will probably hide and therefore people cant see them without taking lid off and disturbing them and handling them either that or people just wont bother to look and buy. so its a difficult one.

All shows ive been to all reps have been in some sort of Rub and have done well. a lot of the reps are hatchlings and if they have never had a hide they know no different

plus not all would have a hide when bigger anyways. Retics get far to big for hides and jungles dont use hides either as they tend to be up a a branch

Shows are the only true way for people like ourselves to meet and see those species we would not normally see. Reptile shows are getting shut down everywhere because dumb councils miss understand the pet animals act and what actually happens at these shows.

As far as the rubs etc. I am with linda (lizardlover) it is far safer and better for the animal that they are disturbed as little as possible so tubs/ rubs are the better choice.

As far as Darkdreamer's comment about never buying from a show. Well you never know but many reptile dealers get stock from shows etc so one herp in your collection could be from a show.
