First of all I am so so sorry for your loss and I am deeply saddened by the news. I hope that you can cope with the tough times you may have in the days to come. FYI...herps that have been in fires who make it out sometimes come down with bad respitory infections due to the trauma and scarring in their lungs. So expect the worst but hope for the best!

On another note...how far are you from Crystal Palace Reptiles?

Well Vee what can I say, I have heard so often over the last two days the words you are so lucky you were not in there, I was still in bed asleep at the time of the incident so I have to disagree with you, I explained that there was a series of explosions, whether they were in the house or not there is nothing that could be done, it was just to quick and fierce, the shed as I called it was infact a log cabin and originally a self contained flat, so please put any ideas of it being a drafty old shed out of your mind, it was a sophisticated suite fully air conditioned and comfortable. Here is a pic of what the outside of the cabin used to look like.

i do admit that it isn't what i had pictured in my head when you said shed, personally though i couldn't handle not having my reps in the house with me, while yours was a damn fine example of a "shed" its not how the majority of people keep reptiles when they keep them in a shed.

Matt in answer to your Question they are not that far from CPR probably about 30 mins or so and im sure Jai probably knows the owner of the shop so if you have any help or advice to give feel free to pm/contact either Jai or me as i know her personally.
I have not seen her for a while but knew some of the animals personally that lost their lives in this tragic event.

Today for me has been the worst because there is nothing to do but sit and think, and we have done a lot of that.

It's just so weird, we have so much time on our hands now and nothing to do with it, however we are concentrating on the surviving few, they all need bathing regularly to keep them hydrated, I did a feed tonight all the lizards fed, it did used to take two hours feeding and spraying the lizards and now it's over in under 5 minutes.

The vet still has Kitty and Reese the albino burms, and Hansel the retic, we should be able to collect the males tomorrow, Kitty however we are still unsure of her chances.

We are so very sorry to hear your very sad news,we can not try to understand the pain you must be feeling.
We have some spare stuff you are more than welcome to if it would help.

1 x 3ft viv just needs a heat bulb and substrate has everything else.
Several all glass vivs different sizes,(these will need slight attention)
We also have a few uv bulbs,heat mats,bark hides ect.
