Default The Chelonia Picture/Random Chat thread!

As the members of this forum love to see pictures.

I think it would be a good idea for people to add pictures of the Chelonia they own, or ones they want to own in the future, or ones they have owned in the past.

So feel free to post!

i personally love turtles, Musk turtles i think are adorable and snake headed turtles are cute in an odd way

Hey,,
Looks to be no one posted yet, i need advice since im buying a turtle few weeks then.. what to choose? YOUNG ADULT turtle which is 7-8 cm long or BABY turtle which is tiny 3 inch even less!

Edit >>>,,, Remember! Baby one is more active and looks more healthy, since young adult looks a bit grumpy and no smooth shell and lazy LOL

That was fast ! LOL Thanks for your Advice very much i think im going towards baby because its sorta cute and i dont afford that big tank since i dont have place to put it unless i got a pond outside, so i think baby! Btw are baby turtles Carnivores or Herbivores? or both, because im not even sure what the instant canned food contain for them so i wanna also try giving them fresh herbs if herbivore and fresh meat (insects of course LOL) If they are carnivores! or that is not necessery?

They eat both, you will need to give them a varied diet, try googling for more dietry information but without knowing what kind of turtle you are after i couldnt say.

I used to own a yellow bellied turtle,i fed him zoo med turtle sticks, fresh veg, bits of meat and seafood.

If your getting a baby i wouldnt suggest putting it outside straight away as you may never find it again!!!.

Some people have a childs plastic sandpit/pool they fill with some rocks in for bathing areas and netting over the top to stop predetors until the turtle is old enough to go outside.

Also if its cold at night might have issues with the temperatures, so you will have to find out those too

Ohhh nooo you missed understanded , I dont actually have a pond nor making one, i was just saying that meaning that i have no place to keep an adult UNLESS i got a pond (i dont), and in the Middle East you really wouldnt want to make an outdoor pond because in noon, the water will get boiled from the sun! i use to have an outdoor pond in our house in london but there were no turtles
