i am buying hermanns tortoise in august time and i was wondering what i would need i have a viv but i may have to buy a new one as it was given to me by a family member with lots of dead crickets, waxworms, gecko poo, about 4 inches of dirty sand a dirt i throughly cleaned it but it stinks still it will need to air out.
i need to know what to feed it and what my shopping list will need to consist of and any tips you may have thank you for reading!

IF your not getting it til August then you have a while for it to smell clean. Have you bleached and disinfected it thoroughly. Use Surgical spirits to clean it and the smell will dissipate if you do it outdoors.

Make sure you have the correct heat and UV for it.

I dont know much about torts but they are veggie eaters so i should imagine most veggies that you would usually buy, beleive they also need calcium dust etc.

Hopefully who ever you are purchasing it form will give you all the info you need

Sorry i cant help much more but i dont know much about torts. Is this one on the Cities list? if so does the owner have paperwork.
I know that some torts have paperwork and sure Hermanns is one of them. IF so make sure the paperwork is upto date. If in any doubt contact DEFRA for more info ( you can find them on google)

please dont buy from a shop you will pay too much for it and it wont be uk bred .it will be an import and they usually dont last long or carry deseases. please try and buy from a breeder . The tortoise will be better in a tortoise table (no glass), dont use a heat mat as it will fry your tortoise , feed on a weeds diet if possiable, i breed hermans and horsfields and give you any advice you need tortoise lady
